Sotheby’s is on a diamond roll - as well as the blue diamond featured recently by Luxury Reporter , the auction house is about to sell a flawless white diamond of nearly 85 carats.

The 84.37 carat diamond to be sold by Sotheby’s Geneva
The gem weighs in at 84.37 carats, and is described as a brilliant-cut, D (finest white) flawless diamond. The diamond has received the highest possible grading from the GIA with the report (No. 15692749) listing the stone with D-color, Flawless Clarity, and “excellent” polish and symmetry. It’s said to be the largest brilliant-cut diamond of top quality to ever be presented for auction. Sotheby’s anticipates a sale price of US$12-16 million.
Sotheby’s Geneva sold the Star of the Season diamond (100.10cts) for $16.5 million in 1995: still the most expensive jewel ever to have been sold at auction.
The auction will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 14. Until then, the diamond will be on view in Hong Kong from October 3 to 8; Paris from October 11 to 12; New York from October 14 to 17; Rome from October 18 to 19; Los Angeles on October 22; London from October 24 to 26; Dubai from October 29 to 30; Bahrain from October 31 to November 1; and Geneva from November 10 to 13.
