High Country Club has announced that it will be increasing its membership deposit requirements from the end of November. The company, which has acquired more than 270 members and 33 properties in its two-year history, has also made some improvements to its booking policies.

The club mentions that ‘custom’ plans may be offered. This is something we’ve expected to see happening more and more. It remains to be seen what impact the practice will have on operating margins and pricing.
High Country Club memberships can be upgraded to allow family and friend bookings for a non-refundable fee of $10 000 and a 20% increase in annual dues. This seems reasonable, given High Country Club’s low annual dues and competitive membership fees.
Members may now use High Country Club properties for bookings in excess of their annual entitlements, as availability permits and with a charge of $250 per night. Also, it’s now possible to make three-day or four-day reservations as far as a year in advance, and the number of restricted holidays has been reduced.
