Solstice has added to its collection, with a new residence under construction in Brazil. The home, which should be completed by early 2008, is in Warapuru, a beachfront development in the northeastern quadrant of Brazil, designed by Anouska Hempel Design.

Warapuru is an eco-resort situated at the meeting point of tropical rain forest and beach, and features a spa facility, beach club, tennis courts and fitness center.

From the Solstice press release:

Atop each of the villa’s expansive three floors, Solstice members will enjoy a private plunge pool and sun deck. The villa’s dual master-suite configuration and additional three bedrooms provide spacious accommodations for guests. Members will also enjoy the beck and call of a private butler and a motorized golf cart to tour the lush resort grounds.

Graham Kos, Solstice founder, on the new addition:

“Our just-purchased Warapuru home is situated where the rain forest meets the white-sand beach just outside the charming Brazilian fishing village of Itacare. It’s a one-of-a-kind combination of exotic nature within an exclusive and intimate boutique resort which will provide our members a truly unique experience.”

It’s not clear how private the Solstice home at Warapuru is, even though there are only 18 villas in total. It’s certainly an attractive development. For more details on the resort, visit www.warapuru.com.

Eco-resort residences haven’t featured much in destination club portfolios to date, but we think they will start to show up more and more often. Aside from the obvious environmental responsibility aspects, it’s good business - the environment is a very hot topic right now, and consumers are becoming more conscious of the environmental impact of their purchasing decisions and travel patterns.
