We’re making a review trip to Thailand, and we want you to help us choose which resorts to review. To have your say, please vote in the poll in the righthand column, or email us on reviews@luxuryreporter.com. If you think we should be considering another property, please let us know.

Here are the resorts we’ve shortlisted.

Kamalaya

Kamalaya was designed to integrate into its surrounding landscape. Built in a valley, its accommodation options include cosy Hillside Rooms, open Suites and spacious Villas overlooking the pristine coastline of southern Koh Samui. Buildings are nestled amidst ancient, granite boulders, streams, and tropical vegetation, with existing rocks and trees as defining elements for many of the structures.

Baan Yin Dee

Perched some 850 meters on the hillside overlooking Patong Bay, Baan Yin Dee Boutique Resort commands breathtaking views of the turquoise Andaman Sea dotted with pearl and emerald islands. Baan Yin Dee means ‘Warm Welcome Home’ in Thai. Designed in the classic Boran style, the resort boasts a genteel appearance using predominantly wood and an abundance of other natural materials like granite, pebble stone, marble and rattan. To preserve its rich Thai heritage, the Resort projects a visually aesthetic appeal in harmony with the environs.

Occupying two rai or just under one acre of prime hillside land, the Resort has been cleverly designed to fit in 21 spacious rooms and suites; an elegant restaurant and a four-tiered swimming pool. Guests are made to feel at home by a charming blend of Thai warmth and Western efficiency.

Amanpuri

Amanpuri embodies the inner spirit of the Thai culture while allowing nature to reign supreme. The natural beauty combined with sincere warmth and a genuine soul allows for complete rejuvenation.

Amanpuri, translated in Sanskrit as place of peace, was opened in 1988, the first born to the Aman ‘family’. This tranquil prodigy has pride of place on Phuket in a secluded natural coconut grove on a peninsula leading down to a soft, crescent shaped beach overlooking a mesmerizing turquoise Andaman Sea. Amanpuri continues to evolve with a peaceful purity, which is reflected in its gracious service, and the sympathetic construction of its pavilions, villas, and stylish midnight blue pools.
